Parking Near Bunker Hill Monument

Visit the majestic Bunker Hill Monument, erected at the site of one of the first battles of the American Revolutionary War, the Battle of Bunker Hill. Considered the last stop along Boston's famous Freedom Trail, this towering obelisk commemorates the location of one of the most famous battles in our country's history. The monument was built 50 years after the fight, between 1825 and 1843. Standing 221-feet tall, this regal granite structure is located on Breed's Hill in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston. To get to the top, you'll need to climb 294 steps, but the resulting views of the surrounding city and selfie opportunities are worth it.

As one of the first war memorials ever erected in the country, the Bunker Hill Monument was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961. Near the base of the monument, you'll find an exhibit lodge with a statue of famous patriot Dr. Joseph Warren, who died during the battle. Along with the monument, you'll also find the Bunker Hill Museum across the street, which is housed in the former Charlestown branch of the Boston Public Library. Here, you'll learn all about the famous battle and the building process of the Bunker Hill Monument.

While you are visiting the Bunker Hill Monument, be sure to stop at other famous landmarks nearby including Paul Revere's home and the Old North Church. You'll also want to see Copp's Hill Burying Ground and the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship in the country.

Although admission to both the Bunker Hill Monument and the Bunker Hill Museum is free, parking in the area is not. In fact, parking anywhere along the Freedom Trail is hard to come by and potentially expensive. Save yourself time and money by booking your parking space before you arrive through SpotHero, where you can save up to 50 percent off the drive-up rates of local garages.
